did you hear about the android? in response to the bbc reporter's question - how do you respond to allegations that you are just making the perfect girlfriend for yourself? - he said "does she have sensation in her breasts? yes. does she have sensation in her nipples? yes. do i have sex with her? no." hhahaha why did he take there? i think the implication was that he was lonely and needed a companion, but whoa. i mean he did demonstrate that she's programmed to feel pain. anyway...interesting...

I don't want to send you every single link I find labeled "network," but here's a good one that differentiates networks from structures not only by their rigidity, but also of being composed of actors (elaborated in the linked paper), specifically the need to include inanimate actors in the network, "paper-filing systems, computer database, digital internet database"... android networks. Mostly coming from Bruno Latour.
